Artist Statement

Design Concepts:
I am fascinated by universal designs, visual rhythms of shapes, colors and combinations of groupings (in numbers) and application of those concepts to design. It has been proven that certain designs and combinations of groups, colors effect the human perception and spirit in pleasing (and negative) ways. Each piece, no matter how large or small has thoughtfully been designed with a rhythm and design in mind to please the human spirit.
My Goal?... I hope you feel GREAT when wearing or viewing any of these pieces!

Biography

This occupation I have chosen truly fits me and who I am. My love and interest in art can only be described as: always! As a child, I sold my first paintings at the age of eight, where they still may hang in the local Dentist’s office in my home town of Evergreen, Colorado. My interest in glass actually began after college when I took a job with a major cruise line when I made it my goal to see and experience much of the worlds greatest art and architecture, from Russia to Australia and all places in between first hand. During one summer we had Venice, Italy as a home port and toured Scandinavia as well. Both being significant art glass Mecca's in the world I realized the possibilities were very exciting!

Once I left the employ of “The Love Boat” I pursued private artists to learn fusing (kiln firing) techniques because it was such a unique and new process among glass artists. After 30 years of work in glass I have found my own way and yet still love making the work “new” with each season. While also applying the design concepts that I have studied, experienced through travel and in art history that continue to evolve and fascinate me.
